Kolkata: Union minister Pranab Mukherjee on Monday brushed aside the ruling CPI-M`s allegations of the Maoists-Trinamool Congress nexus in the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections.

"The alleged nexus has been dismissed out of hand by the Trinamool Congress which says it has no connection whatsoever with the Maoists," the Finance Minister said in reply to a question at a meet the press programme here.

Poll graffiti written by the Marxist party in many parts of the state have referred to the alleged nexus.

A delegation of CPI-M leaders had met the Election Commission to submit a memorandum highlighting the alleged links between the Trinamool and Maoists in West Bengal.
