The sensational Bhubaneswar lady constable murder case has taken a fresh twist, with accused husband Deepak Raut now coming under fresh scrutiny over the suspicious death of his first wife, Aparna Priyadarshini, in 2022.

Raut, who is currently under arrest for allegedly murdering his second wife Shubhamitra, is facing new allegations after Aparna’s younger sister, Rosalin Raut, approached Khuntuni police station on Friday demanding a reinvestigation.

Details Of The Complaint

Aparna, who worked as a Revenue Inspector and hailed from Dhenkanal, had died on March 17, 2022. At the time, Deepak claimed she was killed in a road accident while travelling to Cuttack. He lodged a complaint saying Aparna stepped out of the car and was hit by a truck, and she later died at a private hospital in Cuttack.

An unnatural death (UD) case was registered, but the matter was closed as an accident, despite the absence of eyewitnesses and the alleged truck never being traced.

Fresh Allegations

Now, Rosalin alleges Aparna was murdered for insurance money, just like Shubhamitra. She further claimed that Deepak, being in the police department, manipulated officials to cover up the truth.

With the latest revelations, serious questions are being raised about why the 2022 case was not properly investigated.
