Ranchi: Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, who suffered injuries after being beaten up inside a high-security jail, will remain in hospital for a few more days.

"His right hand is under plaster and doctors have kept him under observation," the director of the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Tulsi Mahto, said here today. He would remain in hospital till doctors allow him to be discharged, he said.

While Koda alleged that he had been beaten up by prison guards at the Birsa Central Jail yesterday, the district administration and prison officials said Koda suffered injuries when other inmates allegedly assaulted him following a dispute over the quality food.
