Chennai: Labour Minister Mallikarjun Kharge today said the Centre had done its job of notifying the Majithia Wage Board recommendations for journalists and non-journalists and it was upto the state governments to ensure their implementation.

"We have already recommended, we have notified, we have done our job. The only thing, states should take action. Wherever they are not implementing, it is the responsibility of the states to take action," he told reporters here when asked about the status of the Wage Board recommendations.

He said some 10 or 11 writ petitions on the wageboard issue were pending before the Supreme Court. "Let us see what is going to happen."
