Biden's visit comes a day after a hospital in Gaza which was sheltering thousands of displaced people was bombedon Tuesday. This also led to the cancellation of the President's second leg of the trip to Jordan where he was due to meet Arab leaders.

He is slated to land at the Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv at 10 a.m. for meetings with Israeli officials, The Times of Israel reported.

Amid the escalating war between Israel and Hamas, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his Turkish and Russian Counterparts, reviewed the situation over a call.

"A short while ago, the IAF struck terror targets and military infrastructure of the Hezbollah terrorist organisation in Lebanon, in response to fire yesterday (Monday) towards Israel," the Air Force said in a post on X.

"President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. will travel to Israel on Wednesday, October 18, to demonstrate his steadfast support for Israel in the face of Hamas's brutal terrorist attack and to consult on next steps,"
