The granddaughter of children``s author Roald Dahl and her husband, jazz star Jamie Cullum, 31, became parents earlier this week but news of the birth has only just been released, reported Daily Mail online.
"Musician Jamie Cullum and his wife, the author and presenter Sophie Dahl, have become parents. Their daughter Lyra was born on March the second. They are over the moon," said a spokesperson in a statement.
They will not be releasing any further details about their daughter, including her weight and where she was born, the spokesperson added.
The couple have been keen to keep their private life out of the public eye since beginning a relationship in 2007.
The couple tied the knot at a country hotel last year, having kept the event secret from all but their closest friends and family.
The former plus-size model who became a household name after posing naked for Opium perfume, is 6ft, while Cullum is 5ft 4in.
The couple``s new baby daughter will be brought up at their USD 5 million house in Buckinghamshire. The house was once the home of Dahl``s grandfather.
