New Delhi: He has been a superstar for about four decades now and his endorsement adds weight to any cause and occasion, but Amitabh Bachchan says he is too ordinary and ignorant to give his opinion on every issue.

Everybody wants a piece of the 69-year-old megastar and he has been lately flooded with invites for conferences and important events. But a surprised Bachchan says he is not qualified for them. "Suddenly many invitations to inaugurate book releases, conferences, chief guests at important events!! I am not qualified for them! "My profession does not give me the obvious authority to be the most knowledgeable and justified endorser of various entities. And age does not necessarily indicate mature insight and vision, despite the grey and the glasses... I am still ordinary and ignorant," he wrote on Twitter.

Bachchan, who holds honorary doctorates from four different universities in India and abroad, said that being a host on a TV show or a star in films does not qualify one to give opinions on social issues. "Being a host on a Tv show or an appreciated artist in film, does not become justified qualification, for every other responsibility! Gravest fallacy - just because you work in a public domain, does not mean wisdom and wealth of acumen in all walks," he added. Bachchan promotes the causes of eradication of polio and is a tourism ambassador of Gujarat.
