Amitabh Bachchan nailed it through his speech on consent in the movie “Pink.” It hit the audience right on the spot making the entire shot and the movie unforgettable. His strong words saying “No means No” in the courtroom drama justified the entire effort behind the making of the film.

So, when an official Tamil remake of the same movie starring Ajith was released it was just natural that a comparison between the two was made. Nerkonda Paarvai revolves around the original story of Pink and is one of the best adaptations of the original. A general argument in most of the cases is that the original version is the best. But it does not apply in the case of Nerkonda Paarvai.

Pink Had Strong Cast Support, Nerkonda Paarvai Is All About Ajith

Undoubtedly, Amitabh Bachchan was the star of Pink. But the overall star cast of the Hindi movie was also strong with the likes of Kirti Kulhari, Piyush Mishra, Andrea Tariang, and Tapasee Pannu doing a great job. But coming to Nerkonda Paarvai it was all about Ajith who single-handedly carried the movie on his shoulders. That is why the director of the Tamil remake had to make a few changes to original scenes so that Bharat Subramanian played by Ajith has a more defined character in the movie.

The arguments in the Tamil remake are as infuriating as in Pink. One of the major differences between the two movies is that with Pink makers intended to target an intelligent audience whereas Nerkonda Paarvai also focused on entertainment quotient. Just as Amitabh was outstanding in Pink, Taapsee and Kirti were also phenomenal in all the courtroom scenes. But in the case of the Tamil version, Abhirami Venkatachalam and Shraddha Srinath failed to deliver the goods putting all the responsibility on Ajith.
