Man arrested for killing wife in Sambalpur
Sambalpur: Police have arrested a man for allegedly killing his wife in Hitsara village under Naktideul police limits in Sambalpur. The accused, identified as Chagala Sethi also confessed to have murdered his wife on October 30 in a nearby forest.
The matter came to light after the decomposed body of the deceased woman identified as Sulochana was found yesterday.
Local residents alleged that that Sulochana was murdered over ‘black magic’. However, senior police officials claimed that the accused was mentally unstable and a detailed probe in connection with the incident will be conducted.
“A forensic team has collected samples from the spot and the body has also been sent for post mortem. Once we get the report, things will be cleared,” Sambalpur SP Sanjeev Arora said.
