Armed dacoits loot cash, valuables from house

Balasore: Unidentified miscreants looted cash and ornaments worth lakhs of rupees from the house of one Sushant Mahana in Routarapur under Remuna block of Balasore district late on Tuesday night.

A gang of four dacoits knocked the door of Mahana’s house at around 11:00 pm yesterday; as soon as Mahana open the door, they barged into the house with guns and sharp weapons.

They allegedly threatened the family members and also thrashed them before decamping with the looted money, valuables and a motorcycle.

A total of Rs 1.3 lakh cash, gold ornaments weighing around 20 gram were looted by the miscreant, said sources.

Based on the FIR lodged by the Mahana family with the Remuna police, an investigation has been initiated into the incident.
