Similipal National Park reopens for tourists from today.The National Park in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district was closed for visitors for over four months due to monsoon.
The injured were part of a five-member team of forest protection guards that had set out into the reserve forest to carry out tiger census. They were rushed to a hospital and are undergoing treatment.

The first phase of the quadrennial tiger census is being conducted in 55 beats under the Karanjia Forest Division. Similarly, 70 beats of the north wildlife division under the supervision of Deputy Director Similipal Tiger Reserve, Sai Kiran will also see the tiger census.
