The Calcutta High Court cancelled the 2016 School Service Commission recruitment panel, impacting about 24,000 jobs due to irregularities. The court ordered fresh appointments within 15 days and salary returns in four weeks. An exception was made for Soma Das, a cancer victim.

In his petition, the petitioner has mentioned that information has been provided about 37,000 seats on Paradarshi Portal instead of 60,000 seats this year. However, no information has been provided about the classes in which the students intend to take admissions.
