Bhubaneswar: Taking a strong note of the arrest of two persons for murdering another youth, who surfaced alive after one-and-a-half-year in Paikmal of Bargarh district, the Odisha Human Right Commission (OHRC) today has sought a report from the Crime Branch ADG and the Bargarh Collector within six weeks.

Hearing a petition filed by three rights activists, the OHRC directed the Crime ADG to submit report after a thorough probe. Besides, the district administration has been asked to undertake psychiatric treatment of the youth, who was declared ‘murdered’ by the police after he went missing.

The rights body also asked the Bargarh collector to provide compensation to the concerned youth and two others who had to spend nearly one year in jail for the murder which never happened.

Jeetu Dandsena of Pipilipali village under Paikmal police limits of Bargarh district had gone missing on December 25, 2016, following which police had launched an investigation and came to a conclusion that

Jeetu was murdered. Meanwhile, Jeetu returned home recently to the surprise of many.

However, police had arrested two persons - Hallu Gulla and Raghav Naik from Bargarh who spent nearly a year in jail on charges of murdering Jeetu and were later released.

Upon his return to home, Jeetu said that he was looted and inadvertently went to Delhi and later to Kolkata.

However, with some help, Jeetu managed to reunite with his family members, informed sources.
