Bhubaneswar: A Delhi-Bhubaneswar GoAir flight managed to avert a major accident when it was hit by a bird while landing at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar. All the passengers were safe and no loss to property was reported.
According to sources, the flight made a safe landing and no serious problems were faced. However, inspection by flight crew upon landing revealed remains of the bird on the fuselage of the plane, said sources.
Till last reports came in, the flight had departed to Delhi, albeit behind schedule, after inspection.
“GoAir flight G8-162 Bhubaneshwar – Delhi was delayed for 50 minutes at Bhubaneshwar airport due to bird hit en-route. Post inspection and clearance from the authorities, the flight finally took off at 0920 hrs,” said a GoAir spokesperson.
