CCTV cameras at UU hostels soon

Bhubaneswar:
The Utkal University registrar today announced that close circuit TV(CCTV)
cameras would be installed at all four hostels in the campus apart from which a
biometric machine would be put at the main gate of the university to prevent

the entry of non-students. The cameras will put in phase wise and the work will
be started within 15 days, Registrar DN Jena said.

The
decision has been taken following the Wednesday mid- night violence at the
Gopabandhu hostel in which seven inmates including students
