Puri: Two tourists from West Bengal drowned while they were taking bath in the sea at the sea beach here today.
Reports said Biswajit Bhattacharya of Veer Bhumi area of West Bengal was taking bath at New Marine beach near Swargadwar when a strong undercurrent dragged him into the deep waters. At this the Life Guards, present at the beach rescued him and rushed to the district headquarters hospital where the doctors pronounced him as ‘brought dead’.
Another tourist from West Bengal also met the same fate while taking bath near the Light House beach when a big tide pushed him to the deep waters. By the time the local fishermen rescued him he was dead.

Notably, four persons have drowned in the sea in the pilgrim town in four days due to high tide.
