As predicted, the mercury is gradually inching towards the 45-degree mark in Odisha. For the first time in the 2024 summer season, the maximum temperature rose to 44.3 degrees C in Boudh district which was the hottest place in the state on Friday.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Baripada also recorded a maximum temperature of 44.2 degrees today.

As per the data shared by IMD, 10 places in Odisha recorded maximum temperature of 43 degrees or above.

The Smart City Bhubaneswar recorded a maximum temperature of 41.4 while Cuttack recorded a maximum temperature of 42.7.

The IMD has issued an orange warning for heat wave to severe heat wave conditions in several districts of Odisha in the next two days.

There is a possibility that the maximum temperature is likely to register a drop following thunderstorm activities after 48 hours. Rainfall activities are likely to provide much-needed respite for the people of the state.
