Man arrested for wife’s murder

Khruda:  Commissionerate police, arrested a man for allegedly killing wife over dowry from Badagada area on Friday .

The accused identified as Sukanta Behera, resident of Parakana village under Satyabadi police station limits of the district was arrested basing on a complaint lodged by father and brother of deceased.

As per the complaint, Sukanta had allegedly killed his wife, Mili, with the help of his family over dowry on July 6 while the family got information about her death from Uttara police outpost.

“First he eloped with my daughter and after marrying he killed my daughter for dowry,” alleged Mili’s father.

Later, Mili’s family member caught Sukanta from his house in Badagada area of Bhubaneswar and handed him over to Badagada police.

According to sources, Sukanta and Mili had tied nuptial knot two years back and theirs was a love marriage. Staying in Bhubaneswar, both were working in private company.

However, family members of Sukanta are yet to respond on the allegations.
