1 killed, 2 injured after miscreants open fire

Rourkela: One person was killed and two others were critically injured after unidentified miscreants opened fire at them near Baurkela under Lahunipada police limits in Rourkela late on Tuesday night.

According to reports, while the three were travelling in a dumper vehicle yesterday night, 10-15 assailants intercepted them and opened fire.

The deceased identified as Sunil Munda died on the spot while the other two were grievously injured in the attack. The injured persons are yet to be identified.

Though the exact reason behind the attack is not clear, role of Maoists behind the incident is suspected.
