Scorching heat is likely to persist in Odisha for the next four to five days, informed IMD Bhubaneswar scientist, Umashankar Das on Wednesday. Speaking to OTV, the IMD official said temperature in many parts of Odisha has increased because of dry winds.

The India Meteorological Department has warned that parts of India will witness extreme heatwave conditions during the months of April, May and June.

The Severe Cyclonic Storm Michaung weakened into a deep depression on Tuesday night as it made its way through north Andhra Pradesh to Southern Odisha.
These visuals are from AGS Colony in Velachery of Chennai. Several streets have been submerged after intense rainfall under the influence of cyclone Michaung. Rescue ops are underway with the help of boats.
