The India Meteorological Department has issued rainfall alert for some districts of south Odisha during the weekend. One or two places in some districts of south Odisha are likely to experience light rainfall in and around December10 and 11.

A low pressure area has formed over the East Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Friday, that under the influence of the cyclonic circulation, a Low Pressure Area has formed over the same region.
The system is likely to move gradually west-northwest over southwest Bay of Bengal and reach near Sri Lanka coast during subsequently three days.
Light/moderate & fairly widespread to widespread rainfall/snowfall is likely over Western Himalayan Region and light to moderate, scattered to widespread rainfall is expected over the plains of northwest India on January 29 and 30
