Dust pollution often makes life of Cuttack residents miserable. Time and again, people have voiced concerns over the issue only to the pleas to end in deaf ears. Locals of the Millennium City on Friday launched unique protest against this pollution menace and make their voices heard loud and clear.
Hundreds of demonstrators dumped piles of dust and sand in front of Cuttack Municipal Corporation Office after collecting it from nearby areas. Members of Subhash Sangathan took up kadai and shovels to pile up dust in front of the CMC building to protest against the inaction by the administration.
Locals alleged that the government is not taking concrete steps to arrest the dust menace in the Twin City despite expenditure of crores of rupees for development.
