Amid campaigning for the ongoing elections, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik held a roadshow in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday to campaign for the party's Lok Sabha candidate Manmath Routray and MLA nominee for the Bhubaneswar-North Assembly seat Sushant Rout. However during the roadshow, the streets of the capital city were mostly vacant. Citizens of Bhubaneswar also alleged that the party has given food packets and money to people to attend the CM’s rally. Meanwhile, BJP has said that low public attendance in Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s rally is a sign of people losing their affection for the chief minister. BJP National Vice President and Party’s Kendrapara Lok Sabha Candidate tweeted, ‘The magic is long gone. Public is hugely negative about a non-Odia holding the mic and always prompting Chief Minister what to say.’
