The appointment came close on the heels of the horrific train mishap at Bahanaga where 288 people lost their lives and more than 600 are currently under treatment.
NDRF Constable Bhim Kumar said, “PM Modi came to meet us after visiting the crash site. He wanted to know from us the exact situation of the rescue operation and the hurdles we were facing. The Prime Minister spoke with us and we felt very happy about that gesture.”
They were begging to collect money for the treatment of passengers injured in the Balasore train mishap.
The deceased has been identified as Dhananjay Pande, who was working as the driver of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Pradeep Purohit.
