All Pass But CBSE Seeks Time To Clarify Assessment Methodology For Private Class 10 Students

The Supreme Court (SC) had recently rejected the plea requesting cancellation of exams for Central Bureau of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 students under the Private, Patrachar and compartment categories.

Meanwhile, the assessment criteria for Class 10 students under these three categories still remains unclear. A PTI report said that the Delhi High Court has granted time to the Board to respond to a plea regarding the assessment methodology of private Class 10 students after their examination was cancelled owing to COVID-19 pandemic earlier this year. Justice Prateek Jalan, passed the order after CBSE sought time for the same.

The judge was recorded saying that the council of CBSE sought further 10 days time to take instructions regarding the assessment methodology for private Class 10 students. The judge listed the matter’s further hearing on August 23 while hearing a petition moved by the mother of a private Class 10 student. In the petition, the petitioner stated that even though the private Class 10 students were declared ‘Pass’ after the exams were cancelled, the Board is yet to clarify the assessment methodology it will use to evaluate the students.
