The Odisha government has issued directives with regard to the school fee waiver in private aided and un-aided schools for academic session 2020-21.As per the directive, such schools will collect school fees as per 2019-20 academic session standards but will provide 15% reduction.

Popular Sambalpuri actor, Atal Bihari Panda passed away today. Panda who was best known for his role in the movie ‘Sala Budha’ was 92 years of age. The actor was undergoing treatment at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla and passed away at 3:45 AM on Saturday.

Odisha government will soon constitute a panel to finalize the evaluation criteria for Plus-2 examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) constituted a committee to decide marking scheme for Class-12 students, whose board exams have been cancelled.  The committee is comprised of 12 members and a notification in this regard was issued on Friday (June 4). 

In a major decision, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has incorporated coding and data science into its syllabus from the year 2021 onwards. The Centre had earlier proposed the introduction of coding and data science into the syllabus of students in its National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. In a tweet on Friday, Union Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal welcomed the decision of the CBSE.

In a suspected case of suicide, a youth and a woman were found hanging from a tree a little away from Dhanasola village under Rasagobindapur Police Limits in Mayurbhanj district. On Friday (June 4) morning, a few locals found the bodies hanging from a tree, one with a stole and the other with a towel.
