After High Drama, Bhubaneswar DCP Gives Clarification On ‘Daylight Kidnapping’Case

Finally some clarity emerged after the alleged daylight kidnapping of a youth at Delta Chhak of Bhubaneswar on Thursday (June 3), raised concerns among the citizens of the capital city. Bhubaneswar Deputy Commissioner of Police Umashankar Dash clarified that the man, who hwas reportedly kidnapped, was an escapee from a drugs de-addiction centre.

Taking to twitter, the DCP informed that the alleged incident of kidnapping at Delta Chowk was promptly investigated. He stated that the youth has been traced and he had apparently fled from a de-addiction centre. The DCP also emphasized that all aspects of the incident are being investigated including the conduct of the centre.

As per reports, on Thursday afternoon, a youth along with another person was travelling on a motorcycle, when five persons in an SUV intercepted them. Then the youth was forcibly dragged into the SUV. After locals tried to intervene, the five persons overpowered them and fled the spot with the youth. The entire incident was captured on mobile phones which later went viral on social media.
