The Odisha government on Monday chalked out a comprehensive action plan to tackle any emerging drought situation in the State which appears increasingly imminent in the wake of an acute deficit in precipitation this season.
Odisha has witnessed a cumulative deficit of 6% rainfall during this monsoon season so far, the Regional Meteorological Centre of the IMD informed on Sunday.
Odisha Water Resources Department has ruled out chance of any flood in Mahanadi river basin now even as the State continues to witness rainfall activity under the influence of a low pressure over the Bay of Bengal.
