As the most severe crisis in the history of Europe since World War II unfolds with the Russian military offensive on Ukraine, a sinister sense of paranoia pervades across the globe.
Russian President Vladimir Putin explained the military offensive against Ukraine by the urgent need to "demilitarise" the country, to protect the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, and to ensure that Russia would not be placed under threat by NATO from Ukrainian territory. Ukraine and the West consider the attack completely "unjustified" and "unlawful".

However, one set of students, who are stuck at the Slovakian border for several hours now, in their video call to a news channel said that Indians were being turned away and Ukrainian women and children were being given priority there.
