People coming to watch the Republic Day parade would also see new sign boards. A total of 114 modern sign boards have been installed on the Rajpath.
Indian Army contingents will be wearing uniform from three decades, the present-day olive green and the new combat uniform unveiled at Army Day parade this year.
Overall, there will be 16 marching contingents from the armed forces, central paramilitary forces, Delhi Police, National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS) along with 17 military bands, pipes and drum bands at the parade, it noted.
A multi-layer security cover with facial recognition systems has been installed in Delhi ahead of the big day – 2022 Republic Day. Defence Ministry has said that due to COVID19 restrictions, the number of visitors will be substantially curtailed this year. Last year, 25000 visitors had taken part while this year the Ministry is looking forward to host 5000-8000 guests but nothing has been finalised as yet.
