On the third day of nomination filing for the upcoming panchayat polls, Odisha saw an interesting episode unfold in Puri district. It indeed was an unusual sight for many when a third year B.Tech student reached Sub-Collector’s office to file nomination for the post of Zilla Parishad member.
Odisha government kept on showering their favours to different segments of the voters ranging from Anganwadi workers to overaged aspirants for government jobs. Some favours costing hundreds of crores of rupees to the state exchequer kept rolling out of Naveen government’s gift box without even a demand for it.
State Election Commissioner (SEC) Aditya Prasad Padhi today reviewed the preparedness for the upcoming panchayat elections with the District Collectors through video conferencing.
