Good news for travel enthusiasts. The fourth edition of the popular beach festival-Eco Retreat- at Konark in Puri district is all se to kick off on December 1 this year. The event will continue till March 15, 2023.
The state government initiated the plans in 2009 with an aim to provide a Dubai-like experience to tourists with the ambitious Marine Aquarium project. On January 30, 2009, former Puri MLA Maheswar Mohanty laid the foundation stone for the project near the Urban Haat in Baliapanda which is nearly 200 meter from Puri sea beach.
The state couldn’t make it to the list of top ten states in terms of tourist footfall, proving tall claims of the Odisha government developing tourist destinations into world-class ones to be hollow to the core.
