The Collector of Bhadrak, Trilochan Majhi, has ordered a probe into the allegations of poll rigging by a woman at the Badagallo polling booth under Fatehpur Panchayat in Bhadrak’s Tihidi Block during the third phase voting for the Panchayat elections on Sunday.
In the latest video clip doing rounds on the social media platforms, BJD’s Sarpancha aspirant Pratibha Biswal and Manasi Padhi, the president of party’s womens’ wing from Chandali Block, were seen making women voters of Ward number-12 in Itua village of the Gram Panchayat take pledge on the photograph of Lord Jagannath.

Some members of the community took away the ballot box from the booth number-14 at Railima village under Sunakhanda panchayat in the district as a mark of protest after they could not exercise their franchise due to missing of their names from the voter list.

As per reports, some police officers were beaten up by irate villagers at Rajnagar in Kendrapara district following tension at a polling booth this morning.
The third phase voting was underway at 18,495 booths in 1,382 Gram Panchayats under 63 blocks of 29 districts. As many as 679 candidates are in the fray for the 171 Zilla Parishad seats.
