Bargarh Police have registered a murder case in connection with death of four members of a family at Jamdola village under Bheden block in Bargarh district. The police have identified the deceased as Seshadev Meher (55), Kshireswari Meher (48), Arabind Meher (28) and Shivani Meher (20), all members of a weaver family.
Among several others, the question that even a layman of the village is asking is how Mangal, who had slept with his wife and children in the same room, could escape without even a minor burn injury.
There are six murder cases which still remain mysteries for the Commissionerate Police.
The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 31 lakh on the godman, half of the amount will be given to the victim's family as compensation.
Some villagers alleged that both Sahoo and Das had come to meet a girl of nearby village last night.
