Mystery Of Six Murders In Bhubaneswar Remain Unsolved This Year 

Only a few days are left for 2021 to bid adieu. Yet, there are six murder cases which still remain mysteries for the Commissionerate Police.

Some of these unsolved crimes include the recovery of a woman’s body stashed in a bag from a river bank in Mancheswar, a woman’s body found at Gothapatna in Chandaka area and another woman’s body recovered from a lodge in Mancheswar area.  

At the same time, 32 murder cases were reported in the capital city in the year so far. Of the total 35 murder victims, there were 22 men, nine women, three minor boys and one minor girl. The city also witnessed a double murder incident and a triple murder incident during the period. 

As compared to 2019 and 2020, the number of murder cases occurred in Bhubaneswar in 2021 is slightly less. In 2019 and 2020, 39 and 49 murder cases were registered in Bhubaneswar respectively. 

“Some six murder cases are yet to be solved. Investigations into the cases are going on. Our efforts are underway to arrest the accused. We will make it sure to file the charge sheets of the murder cases so as to ensure more conviction rate,” informed Umashankar Das, DCP, Bhubaneswar.
