The move to capture followed several incidents of monkey attacks in which over 10 persons were injured in the area in the past five to six days.

The monkey attacks in Agra’s Taj Mahal have instilled fear among the tourists and local visitors. The monkeys in Agra have been responsible for a number of attacks on children and adults which were sometimes fatal.

Terror gripped the people of Fatehganj block under Bareily district after an attack by monkeys left nearly 40 people grievously injured.The monkeys reportedly ripped off the skin of several people and a few villagers have had their ears bitten off in several incidents. All of the injured people have been hospitalized as they sustained critical injuries.

The monkey has been carrying out sudden attacks on people, especially single women. It is biting and scratching people.
