Banki: No injury marks of monkey attack was found on the body of the 15-day-old baby, said doctor of the Banki hospital Gitanjali Patra who conducted the post mortem today.

The newborn's body was earlier recovered from a well a day after a monkey allegedly snatched him from his parents at Talabasta in Banki.

Patra said enough evidence of monkey snatching was not found on the baby's body.

"Instead it seems to be a case of drowning," she added.

The baby has only bluish mark on head and a slight injury on the upper lip, the doctor stated adding that viscera test of the baby's body will elicit further details.
Yesterday, mother of the baby in Talabasta village had said her baby was snatched by a monkey.

Following this, forest personnel had launched search operations throughout the day to trace the baby.
