Tokyo Olympics silver medallist Jakub Vadlejch finished second with a best throw of 85.88m while Curtis Thompson of USA was third with a best effort of 83.72m.

Chopra had recently ended India's 19-year-long wait for a medal at the World Athletics Championships by winning silver with his best throw of 88.13 metres.

During an interview, he said, “It is good but to tell the truth, I am focusing on my game.”

Chopra, who has a personal best of 89.94m, had competed in the 2017 London World Championships with the hope of at least making it to the finals

India this year is making a big mark at the Tokyo Paralympics by clinching two gold medals in a single day. After Avani Lekhari’s historic performance, Sumit Antil won gold in Men’s Javelin F64 event with a world record throw of 68.55m.

Sundar Singh Gurjar claimed a bronze medal in javelin throw F46, finishing behind Jhajharia.

The plan is to come to India, eat home-cooked food, celebrate with my people and then get the training started.
