India on Friday logged 1,32,,364 new infections in 24 hours as 2,713 more succumbed to the pandemic, the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry said.
A day after reporting the lowest cases since April 8, India witnessed a slight increase in Covid numbers with 1,32,788 new infections reported in 24 hours and 3,207 more people succumbed to the pandemic, the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry said on Wednesday.
Fatalities also dropped below the 3,000-mark for the first time since April 26, when the country witnessed 2,771 deaths.
More than 1.57 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with states and UTs to be administered, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
A patient suspected to be infected with Black Fungus succumbed in Sambalpur district. The patient died at Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR) in Sambalpur.
