The Rs 1.5 lakh crore mark has been crossed for the second time since the inception of GST, official sources said.

Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections in June, 2021 stood at Rs 92,800 crore.

The gross GST collection during the last month is also the highest in a month since inception of GST, claimed the state GST officials.

In October 2021, the revenues were Rs 1,30,127 crore, while in April 2021, it was the highest at over Rs 1.41 lakh crore.

As per official sources, the GST collection of Rs 3325.94 crore was recorded in September this year against the collection of Rs. 2383.99 crore during September 2020. The State has registered a growth of 40 percent and it is the highest amongst all major states in India.

To enable the Centre to repay the loans, including principal and interest taken to compensate states for GST collection shortfall, the GST Council has agreed to levy compensation cess for an extended period up to March 2026
