This is not the scenario only in Ganjam or Nabrangpur. There are many rural areas across the state that are facing an acute shortage of fuel. There are over 2000 fuel filling stations across Odisha and of the total, such acute shortage of fuel is witnessed in over 400-500 stations located in rural areas.
The estimates are based on three different scenarios in terms of working days and fuel conservation prepared by the State Bank of Pakistan for foreign exchange savings of $1.5 billion to $2.7 billion, Dawn news reported.

The Power Minister also desired the ministry to hold a separate review of power plants with captive mines to ensure maximum use of these mines by the power plants.
