Teth-Adam or Black Adam is an enslaved man from an ancient civilization who awakens in the 21st century with super-heroic powers. The roots of his motivation are his family and his people, mostly his son. If anyone messes with anything he cares about, he is going to act swiftly and violently. He is the judge, jury, and executioner and he imparts the judgement as per his sense of justice.
