Partha Chatterjee's counsel questioned the justification describing the investigation being at an early stage, even after his client has served judicial custody for 99 days.
A special court of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday extended former West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee and his close associate Arpita Mukherjee's judicial custody by 14 more days for their alleged involvement in the multi-crore teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC).
A special Enforcement Directorate court here on Wednesday rejected the bail applications of former minister Partha Chatterjee and his close aide Arpita Mukherjee in the multi-crore West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) recruitment irregularities scam and sent them to another 14 days of judicial custody.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) probing the multi-crore teacher recruitment scam in West Bengal has come across as many as 50 banks accounts held individually or jointly by prime accused Partha Chatterjee and his close aide Arpita Mukherjee.
He also claimed that the different documents about properties or insurance policies jointly held by Chatterjee and Mukherjee were forged.
Enforcement Directorate (ED) sources said this has happened since Thursday evening when the central agency sleuths started questioning the two together by placing them face to face.
ED sources said that a total of 22 such high-end mobile phones were seized from the two residences of Mukherjee.
Partha Chatterjee now claims that the party earned money by selling jobs in other departments as well. People allegedly got railway jobs by paying money.
"Was Partha unsuccessful. Nation wants to know?" Mitra's post read.
The central agency sleuths recovered huge treasures for the first time on July 22 from the Tollygunge residence.
The registered address of the third company Echhay Entertainment Private Limited, whose registered address is 95, Rajdanga Main Road, LP-107/439/78, Kolkata - West Bengal 700107 as per the records of the Registrar of Companies (ROC) under the Union ministry of corporate affairs.
This comes days after the probe agency had recovered about Rs 20 crore from Ms Mukherjee's other flat in the city. So far, Rs 50 crore in cash has been recovered from the two flats of Ms Mukherjee.
"Partha used my house and that of another woman as a mini-bank. That other woman is also his close friend," Arpita Mukherjee reportedly told investigators.
Also, Trinamool Congress's daily party mouth piece in Bengali, Jago Bangla (Wake up Bengal) has stopped referring to Partha Chatterjee as the state minister or the party secretary general, since the time he had been arrested by ED.
As the day passed on, ED sleuths got information about Chatterjee's close aide, Arpita Mukherjee and started conducting search operations at the latter's flat in the posh Diamond City Complex in Tollygunge in south Kolkata.
