Triggering a fresh controversy, Andhra Pradesh officials reportedly intruded into villages of Gangabada panchayat under Rayagada block in Gajapati district and carried out some land verification. 

Expressing deep sorrow over the tragedy which claimed nearly 290 people and injured over a 1,000 more, she said more vehicles are on standby for dispatch if needed.

The members of the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) took up such a move to assert that Kotia belongs to Odisha only.

During the Zero Hour in the Assembly, leader of opposition (LoP), Jayanarayan Mishra raised the Kotia issue. He said the Andhra Pradesh government has been wrongfully trespassing into Kotia and interfering in 21 other villages. 

The Chief Minister this time was categorical that Visakhapatnam will be the executive capital.

Apart from this the minister further informed that the government is yet to get information about the construction of roads in Kotia. The state government will take stern action if something like this happens, she added.

The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded as 3 on the Richter scale. There was no loss of life or damage to houses due to the quake.

The chief minister invited industrialists to Visakhapatnam for the global investors' summit scheduled to be held on March 3 and 4.

Dr Rao has prepared around 30 to 40 acres of land in Kapalada mouza under Bandhugaon tehsil for oil palm cultivation.
