The 16th day death ritual or 'Shodashi' of Mahant Narendra Giri will take place at his Baghambari Math on October 5.
The President of Akhil Bhartiya Akhara Parishad, Mahant Narendra Giri was found hanging in a room at Baghambari Mutt on Monday (September 20). The seer reportedly left a 7-page ‘suicide’ note in which he held his disciple Anand Giri and two others responsible for his death.
The handwritten note running into almost 6 pages, reveals that the seer was deeply disturbed but does not mention clearly the incidents that drove him to take the extreme step.
The media has been barred from entering the Mutt, which is presently under heavy security cover. Hundreds of disciples of Giri have reached the Mutt, but they have been prevented from going inside. The disciples refused to believe that the saint had ended his life and insisted that there was some foul play.
