Three killed in Sambalpur road accident

Sambalpur: Three persons of a marriage party were killed and 10 injured, three of them critically, when a jeep carrying them hit a tree in Sambalpur district early today, police said.

The accident occurred near Dhulijora, about 35 km from here, in the early hours causing death of three persons, they said. The occupants of the jeep belonging to Bhelwadihi village in Jharsuguda district were returning after attending a wedding near Bolangir town when they met with the accident.

Though the cause of the accident was being investigated, it prima facie appeared that the driver had lost control over the vehicle after crossing a small bridge and hit against a tree, they said.

The injured were admitted in the district headquarter hospital here while the critically injured shifted to VSS Medical College Hospital at Burla.
