Strong resentment was prevailing among students and parents due to bad communication to the interior areas and lack of any proper accommodation facilities in the villages.
Although the state education department announced that the examination centre will be located within 5 km of the school where they study, it was not implemented during allotment of seats.
As per the official arrangements in Koida block with thick tribal population and affected by Maoists, students of Barsua high school were travelling to Lahunipada centre covering a distance of 40 km.
Koida high school students were going to Gopna centre covering a distance of 50 km, while in Pattamunda, Tensa, Dengua and Jalda students are travelling 7 to 16 km.
In Bargaon block, students of Itma high school were covering a distance of 30 km to reach Ekmara high school to appear for their exams.
"here is no proper communication and public transport system in these remote areas to reach the exams centre in time nor there is any facilities to accommodate for students in the villages", several parents complained.
When contacted the C.I. of schools of Sundargarh Hrusikesh Kandy said "We have to create more centres in the tribal areas for the students. He said "at present more than 20,000 students area appearing exams in 80 centres which is not sufficient".
