Bhubaneswar: The state government today will submit an affidavit before Supreme Court mentioning details about the security of the VIPs in state.
On February 7, the court had sought report on five points regarding the security system including security categories and the amount being spent on VIPs’ safety. The Court asked the state to file report within two days failing which the chief secretary would be summoned.
Responding to the court’s hearing, Odisha Chief Secretary BK Patnaik had told media men, “The data regarding security of VIPs is being collected. An affidavit mentioning all data over the issue will be submitted on Monday before Supreme Court”. The apex court has questioned the rationale behind providing security to the VIPs at the expense of ordinary citizens who have been left unattended.
The next hearing over the matter had been posted to February 14.
