Puri: Consensus has been reached among all the stakeholders to implement 10 out of the 12 proposals suggested by the Supreme Court to streamline the management of Puri Srimandir affairs, informed chief administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Pradipta Mohapatra today.

Barring the issue of hereditary system of appointment of servitors and amendments to the temple act, other reform proposals will be implemented in a phased manner, Mohapatra informed after a meeting of the temple managing committee today.

As per the decision, queue system will be introduced at Puri Srimandir on a trial basis from October 1. There are plans to come up with additional space for devotees to manage the rush, sources said.

As per the recommendation of the finance sub-committee, all the gold and silver donated to Puri Srimandir will be transferred to SBI locker every Monday. Requisite amount of gold and silver for rituals will be kept while all the valuables will be converted into gold bonds.

Other important decisions taken at the meeting included making all the accounts related information of Puri Srimandir available on website by February 2019, reduction in the number of employees and centralisation of the location of all sections and offices of the temple.
