Kendrapara: At least seven police personnel were injured today, one of them seriously, when the vehicle in which they were travelling skid off the road and turned turtle in Kendrapara district, police said.

The mishap occurred on the river embankment road near Jayanagar when a police team, led by inspector of Mahakalapara police station Amitabh Mohapatra, was returning after poll duty on the last day of panchayat elections in the state.

Besides Mohapatra, there were six Orissa Special Armed Police (OSAP) personnel in the vehicle.

Mohapatra sustained serious head injury and was shifted to SCB Medical College Hospital at Cuttack, while others are being treated at the district headquarters hospital here, they said.
